How to make a PC and what do you need?

 

Building a PC can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it can also be daunting if you don't know where to start. In this blog, I will guide you through the process of building a PC and recommend some parts to get you started. I will also add Links with discounts and coupons. Before we dive into the process, let's talk about the basic components that you will need to build a PC:

  • CPU (Central Processing Unit) - This is the brain of the computer.
  • Motherboard - This is the backbone of the computer, which connects all the components.
  • RAM (Random Access Memory) - This is where the computer stores its temporary data.
  • Storage (Hard drive or SSD) - This is where the computer stores its permanent data.
  • Power supply - This is what powers the computer.
  • Graphics card (optional) - This is what renders images and videos on your computer.
  • Case - This is what houses all the components.
  • Monitor (I have below put some recommendations)




Now that we know what we need, let's dive into the process of building a PC:

Choose your components: Before we start building, we need to choose the components we want to use. For this example, we will be using the following components:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (Order here!)
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS (Wi-Fi) (Order here!)
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200MHz (Order here!)
  • Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe SSD  (Order here!)
  • Power supply: EVGA 650 BQ, 80+ Bronze 650W  (Order here!)
  • Graphics card (optional): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti  (Order here!)
  • Case: Fractal Design Meshify C (Order here!)
  • Prepare your workspace: Before we start building, we need to make sure we have a clean and organized workspace. We also need to make sure we have all the necessary tools, such as a screwdriver.  (Order here!)

  1. Install the CPU: The first component we will install is the CPU. To do this, we need to open the CPU socket on the motherboard and carefully place the CPU in the socket. Make sure to align the notches on the CPU with the notches on the socket. Once the CPU is in place, gently close the socket lever.
  2. Install the CPU cooler: Next, we need to install the CPU cooler. For this build, we will be using the included AMD Wraith Stealth cooler. To install the cooler, place it on top of the CPU and align the screws with the holes on the motherboard. Tighten the screws in a cross pattern to ensure even pressure.
  3. Install the RAM: Now it's time to install the RAM. To do this, open the RAM slots on the motherboard and carefully insert the RAM sticks. Make sure to align the notches on the RAM sticks with the notches on the slots. Once the RAM is in place, gently press down on both ends until it clicks into place.
  4. Install the storage: For this build, we will be using an NVMe SSD. To install the SSD, we need to remove the SSD slot cover on the motherboard and insert the SSD into the slot. Make sure to align the notches on the SSD with the notches on the slot. Once the SSD is in place, gently push down on the SSD until it clicks into place.
  5. Install the power supply: Next, we need to install the power supply. To do this, place the power supply into the case and align the screw holes with the screw holes on the case. Tighten the screws to secure the power supply in place.
  6. Install the motherboard: Now it's time to install the motherboard into the case. Carefully place the motherboard into the case, making sure that the screw holes on the motherboard align with the standoffs on the case. Once the motherboard is in place, use the screws that came with the case to secure it in place.
  7. Connect the power supply: Next, we need to connect the power supply to the motherboard. Connect the 24-pin ATX power cable and the 8-pin CPU power cable to their respective ports on the motherboard.
  8. Connect the storage: Connect the NVMe SSD to the motherboard using the M.2 slot that we previously installed it in.
  9. Connect the front panel: Now it's time to connect the front panel connectors, such as the power button and USB ports. Refer to the motherboard manual for the specific pinouts for your motherboard.
  10. Install the graphics card (optional): If you decided to use a graphics card, now is the time to install it. Locate the PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard and remove the slot cover. Carefully place the graphics card into the slot and secure it with the screw on the case.
  11. Cable management: Once all the components are installed, it's time to tidy up the cables. Make sure to route the cables behind the motherboard tray and use cable ties to secure them in place.
  12. Power on the PC: Finally, it's time to power on the PC. Connect the power cable to the power supply and press the power button. If everything is working correctly, the PC should boot up and you can begin installing the operating system.

That's it! You have successfully built your own PC. Remember, building a PC can be a challenging experience, but it's also very rewarding. With some patience and attention to detail, you can create a powerful machine that is tailored to your specific needs.
